Ugh... I need answers.

Can a family member get in trouble for stealing your mail? Even a parent. I've been expecting something for a while and I know it was mailed. I have a feeling my mom or her boyfriend has it. What can I do?

If what ever was mailed to you has your name on it, then anyone else who takes it or opens it is committing a federal crime, family or not.

Actually to be exact, I will further research this but last time I read this law, your under the age of 18, you can't legally claim mail in the first place. So that would generally work like savings accounts, the closest 18+ is giving the ability to manage it until your 18.

actually losso, a piece of mail until open is technically federal property, only those with the name on the mail, or a federal agent with a warrant can take it and open it. that was it last time i checked i few months ago

I said I'd look further into the law. I do not gaurentee to be 100% correct all the time.

Oh well. When I am 16 I am emancipating myself. Read up on it. Don't even have to go to court. Just need to have a job and a place to live.

I wish I could get emancipated, but it would be hard to get a good enough job to pay the rent. actually, at age 16 you are still a child by definition, but 17 you are neither a child nor a major. So if you run away to live somewhere, the police could take you home if you're 16 but not if you're 17.

Do actually look into that FAR before the thought enters your head. Each state has individual laws about that, NH for example recently amended our law so that if your 17, a search will not be sent for you, but if you are found (By accident or on purpose) Your required to return home. Then shit can pretty much go downhill from there...

The whole you can leave but if they catch you have to come home. haha luckily i dont have to do any of that stuff as i will be moving out next year. I wish you the best of luck though.
